The principle of numerology is the study of the qualitative meanings of numbers. Developed thousands of years ago, the present system of numerology is based upon the teachings found in the Tree of Life, or Kabbalah.

Kabbalah Wisdom

In numerology, each number has a significant meaning and corresponds to a letter in the alphabet. The standard numerology system is as follows:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
a b c d e f g h i
j k l m n o p q r
s t u v w x y z

When working with numbers, digits are added together than reduced to a single digit.

For Example…

The year 2003 would be added together: 2 + 0 + 0 + 3 = 5. The date August 1, 2003 adds as follows: 8 + 1 + 2003 (or 5) = 14. This number then reduces to 1 + 4 = 5. Numbers always get reduced unless they are a Master Number. There are three Master Numbers: 11, 22, & 33 and these are never reduced. They are the only numbers that are an exception to this rule in the Kabbalah.

Below is a brief summary of each number and its deeper symbolic meaning based on the principles of numerology.

——————————————————————————–

Number 1 ~ New beginnings, originality, leadership, invention, willfulness, masculine energy.

Number 2 ~ Cooperation, sensitivity, partnership, artistic, shyness, thoroughness, diplomacy, intimacy, feminine energy.

Number 3 ~ Creativity, self-expression, imagination, fun-loving, aliveness, enthusiastic, youthful.

Number 4 ~ Practical, realistic, traditional, system, order, management, stubborn, committed, loyal.

Number 5 ~ Worldly, outgoing, adventurous, progressive, change-oriented, unconventional, outspoken, persuasive.

Number 6 ~ Service-oriented, responsible, security, family, traditional, patient, comfort, nurturing, caring.

Number 7 ~ Depth, spiritual, different, investigator, solitude, humanity, loner, eccentric, education, understanding.

Number 8 ~ Power, authority, control, achievement, executive, problem-solver, mental, stern, rigid, material.

Number 9 ~ Humanitarian, visionary, multi-faceted, healer, minister, educator, teacher, “big brother.”

Master Number 11 ~ Inspirer, charismatic, metaphysical, artistic, sensitive, high energy, visionary.

Master Number 22 ~ Global thinker, visionary, higher consciousness, pragmatic, producer, creator.

Master Number 33 ~ Healer, master teacher, responsible, Christ consciousness, spiritual, compassionate.

——————————————————————————–

Master Numbers in Numerology ~ A rule of thumb

When a Master Number appears in your Dreams, it is useful to consider both the number as it is and the reduced digit since you may be functioning at either level.

Numbers in Your Waking Hours and Night-time Dreams

When understood, the numbers in your Dreams have the capacity to teach you an enormous amount about yourself and your entire life. One way to increase your awareness of numbers (and what they mean to you) is to notice them when you’re awake and asleep. Remember how we discussed the value of learning from the Symbols in both your waking and sleeping realms? Well, this applies to numbers as well. Pay attention to numbers as they appear in your every day life. Notice the time on your clocks at home, in the car and on your computer. Numbers appear in myriad places, giving you ample opportunity to learn from them.

When numbers appear in your Dreams or stands out in your waking life, take a moment to discover what it means for you. If the number 1 shows up in your dream, perhaps it’s time for you take the initiative to start a new project, create a more fulfilling career, or blaze a new trail. On the other hand, if the number 5 appears, it may be time for you to speak out, make a change, or stand up for yourself.

Studying the number system above and the corresponding meanings will help you to uncover a wealth of information in both your waking hours and night-time Dreams.

Follow Your Dreams — We see that a lot: on greeting cards, on jewelry, on bumper stickers. Are our Dreams as illusive as they seem to be? How can we be more in control over how we make our Dreams come true?

When I think of Follow-Your-Dreams, it feels like something passive that I do… that I will sit back and wait for my Dreams to lead me somewhere, and let someone or something else do all the work. I want to be more involved with reaching my Dreams. How can I do that? By being proactive, by being active, by actually doing something about them. Why not pursue my Dreams instead of letting them lead me – to follow?

“To follow” is a passive verb and “to pursue” is an active verb. I want to be actively involved in the realization of my Dreams. I know that I can’t be passive and wait for my Dreams to happen to me. I need to be in the driver’s seat… to take control, to pay attention, to be actively in pursuit of my Dreams. How do I do that?

Make a plan. Nothing happens without a plan. Even if it’s not our own plan, it’s the plan of someone else, or it’s God’s plan. I know that if I sit down and actually write down my Dreams, they become goals. After all, goals are simply Dreams with a time frame. And once articulated, then my Dreams are much closer to becoming a reality than if I’m passive and simply wish for them to come true.

Be bold. Take action. If I’m actively involved in the culmination of my Dreams, then my life will be much more exciting, more fulfilled, and a lot more fun. After all, life is not a dress rehearsal. Life is what happens when we’re making plans. All the clichés and all the wishes will not come true unless I actually do something.

Don’t wait for life to happen to you. Dream big, dream often, and Pursue Your Dreams!

Dreams…What are they? Probably the easiest explanation is your subconscious mind thinking and sorting information. But the truth is no-one really knows what causes Dreams and why some folk seem to have vivid colorful Dreams and others have short uneventful ones.

Dreams mainly occur during Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep. REM occurs every one and a half hours throughout the sleep cycle. During REM the eyes move from side to side and the body is relaxed and almost incapable of movement.

Have you ever declared, “I never dream.”? Well you’re wrong. The fact is everybody Dreams every night. You just may not be able to remember your Dreams.

Don’t worry too much if this is the case. Not remembering Dreams doesn’t mean you’re abnormal in any way. While most People do remember their Dreams, the memory is fleeting and occurs mainly when the sleeper first awakens.

If you really want to remember your Dreams, the best way is to instruct yourself to do this before Falling asleep. This programs the subconscious mind (where Dreams come from) to hold on to the memory.

When you wake up, try and hold the dream in your mind until you have a chance to record it. The easiest way to do this is to have a notebook and pen or a personal voice recorder beside your bed, so you can write down the dream before it disappears and gets ‘buried’ by the normal thoughts and concerns of everyday life.

With a bit of practice you’ll find little snippets of your Dreams beginning to reveal themselves. This procedure will also work well for those who remember the occasional dream or those who want to remember every dream they have.

Books on Dream Interpretation abound and many People believe that Dreams create a window into the subconscious mind where they can find answers to their most pressing problems, or even to see into the future.

This can be a dangerous practice. At best you can waste money buying books which lean towards the esoteric and lack knowledge in this area.

At worst, Dream Interpretation can be taken too seriously and People can depend too heavily on finding the (sometimes false) meaning of their Dreams. This can lead to depression and even paranoia. It’s best to treat Dream Analysis as a bit of fun and realize that there may be many different ways to analyze Dreams and their possible meaning.

If you have recurring dream or Nightmares, it’s best to contact a therapist experience in this area. Don’t go down the mystical route of trying to analyze yourself by means of a book.

Nightmares may be caused by stress, so work on ways to relieve this and the Nightmares may disappear by themselves.

Reality can at times be harsh. It can be one of the stumbling blocks that can hinder your longings, desires and aspirations in life. However our minds have its own ways and means to cope with the harshness of reality and one of that are Dreams. Dreams are psychological phenomena that can serve as the key to unlock the world the world that exists deep inside our awareness which we never thought existed. It also serve as wish fulfillment experiences that patches the missing pieces that we may not be fulfilled in real life waking hours.

Several theories were conducted to interpret the meaning of Dreams in relation to real life situations. Dr Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung are just two of the well known psychologists that delved into the study of Dreams together with the meaning of the signs and Symbols experienced in a dream. Although interpretation of Dreams may depend on one’s personal experiences, there are universal signs and Symbols that can give you the hint of what your Dreams mean. The following are just a few.

Animals stand for an instinct or emotion which may be possessed or longs to be possessed by the dreamer. Birds may signify freedom especially if you long to be free from something or someone. Direction can also stand for the unexplored areas of your personality. The same is true with the colors which can be subjected to various interpretations. The color black could mean guilt and other heavy emotions. White would refer to purity, yellow with happiness and green for rejuvenation or growth and development in one’s life. A person with illness could constantly dream with the color green element as expression as his longing to be healed.

The setting or the background where the dream took place may just be an extension of the real places you’ve been to or the location you want to see, visit or explore. Dry barren land like deserts could stand for the suppressed feelings and longings but is trying to find ways to be ventilated or expressed.

What your Dreams really mean as well as the interpretation of the signs, Symbols and other elements can be known by looking into your real everyday living. Dreams often come in series which may be similar to the chain of events that happen in your waking hours. You are the holder of the key that will unlock the real interpretation and meaning of your Dreams although you could be subjected to mistakes in drawing out the message that it implies. However don’t be too serious or intense in concentration and focus since it may drain out your energy. Have fun and enjoy.

Aside from the fun and thrill of unleashing the possible meaning of your Dreams, creativity and imagination can as well be sparked up. Incubating your dream to recall it during your waking hours can now be possible. Dream incubation has been in practice since the time of the classic Greeks. They use it to talk with the gods for guidance and healing. They have temples where they conduct the rituals and ceremonies for the dream or vision to take place. Aside from personal contact, Dreams are also used by the gods to convey their messages to the mortals as what the Greeks believe.

Nowadays dream incubation does not have to pass through rituals and ceremonies. It is used not as a means to talk with the gods but to explore the consciousness by bridging the Dreaming and the waking areas of the mind. Its main aim is to be aware that you are Dreaming to establish contact with the elements in the dream.

Dreams are unique, for no other individual can have your background, your emotions, or your experiences. They are a voice for desires, your wishes, your thoughts and your ideas; one can consider them to speak the truths that have been suppressed by us in the world, as each dream has its unseen connection to reality.

Thus, while Interpreting Dreams requires linking up those mysterious images to your real life experiences. It also leads to self-exploration and overcoming of many personal problems, fears and anxieties while realizing his/her full potential. This is because a dream unifies the body, mind and spirit, thereby giving you deep insight into oneself and a means for self-exploration.

Broadly, Dreams can be categorized in to two categories on the basis of their origination:
· The Dreams that originate with the physical body
· The Dreams that have mystical origination

The Dreams that are related to one’s physical being are basically related to your daily practices, both on the physical and emotional front. They help you in understanding your general needs, exclaiming your suppressed needs and solving the problems peacefully.

The other category has a mystical origination, for it teaches us the much-needed lessons of life and guides us towards our aim in some hidden manner. You can never know from where you have received the information; just that you receive a world of innovative and unique ideas without much efforts!

Whatever category your dream falls in, it definitely holds a meaning that needs to be interpreted in order to have a better understanding of your self. There are certain definite steps of Interpreting one’s dream, which are stated in brief as follows:

Step 1: Recording your Dreams
This is the first and foremost step towards Dream Interpretation. The step requires you write the Symbols/keywords/instances that you have seen in your Dreams, immediately after you get up. This is because these thoughts tend to vaporize once the rational mind begins to kick in.

Step 2: Analyzing your Dreams
This step requires the interpreter to be bit creative. The readings that you have taken down are broken in to several small parts, which are then given a definite meaning by associating them to your personal life. These smaller bits are more focused and render great help in Interpreting the dream as a whole.

Step 3: Interpreting Your Dreams
The small tit-bits that you have got from the previous step are generally sufficient to give your dream a meaning, when brought up together. However, a deeper concentration on your inner self can aid in understanding that unconsciously received message from your subconscious.

Dreams usually come to deliver a “state of your state of mind” message. They happen when you are sleeping to tell you that you’re doing fine or to let you know if you’re going in a wrong direction. And this “state of the state of mind” message left you with only two choices – to hang in there or to try to examine yourself and make necessary adjustments.

Our Dreams are always full of Symbols and metaphors. Just like stories that are told, which has other meaning than the story itself, Dreams also convey deeper meaning. And that’s what you need to dig out. If you want to venture into the world of Dream Interpretation, there are some things you need to learn. First, you must know how to decode you dream. After that, you have to divide or dissect it into different portions. Then, scrutinize each fragment to know its specific meaning.

Each dream fragment is very important since they usually contain a small piece of the whole dream puzzle. Dreams are made up of tiny components of your own life experience. And these components are stored away in your brain symbolically. Because of this, every fragment of your dream needs to be remembered and interpreted.

Sometimes, using a dictionary of Dreams can be misleading. It is because the interpretation of the dream or the meanings of the Symbols can be based on the composer’s or the writer’s personal experience. Dreams of someone else don’t show exactly the same Symbols your mind has created. For this reason, you need to come up with your own interpretations for the Symbols that are present in your life’s undertakings.

Here are some of the ways to help you develop your own interpretation of dreams:

• DIVIDE and DECODE YOUR DREAM
Know the basic strategy used by most military commanders since then. DIVIDE and CONQUER! Splitting the opponent’s power into small chunks makes it really easy to conquer them. And that’s exactly what you must do in order to interpret your dream. Divide it into fragments and analyze it piece by piece.

If you’re confused on how to divide your dream, here are some of the basic parts in most dreams:

o YOU. Since it is your dream, you are directly involved. If not, you are surely watching what’s happening in the characters of your dream.
o OTHER ACTORS/CHARACTERS. Each person in your dream is an independent actor.
o THE SCENE. There can be more than one scene in your dream. Make sure you remember them well.
o THE OBJECT. There can be a theme or an object included in your dream. Remember what it is.
o THE END RESULT. Not all Dreams have end results.

Consider every part of your dream and separate it from the rest. If you want, you can use a piece of paper to record all your observations. With each dream fragment, try to do recall from your memory the following:
- what feelings this fragment has for you
- what memories does it suggest
- who and what did you remember upon thinking of that particular fragment
- what impression and idea do you have for it

• REVIEW YOUR PRESENT LIFE CONDITION
This is a vital step in Dream Interpretation since it tells you what’s going on in your life currently. Your present condition could affect your dream. And you need to review it to make you ready in fitting the puzzle together. Your current life situation may hold some information which can help you create the final interpretation.

• ANALYZE and INTERPRET your DREAM
Bear in mind you’re the only one who can give the best and most accurate interpretation of your dream. Your Dreams are part of you. It is a part of your subconscious self. So there’s no one who knows better what your subconscious is saying to you than you yourself.

Archetypes are images common to all humans because they arise out of common human experience.

Though we are each unique individuals, our commonalities are more pervasive and fundamental than our differences. Truly understanding this is the only cure for racism, jingoism and prejudice.

Most Symbols in your Dreams reflect a part of yourself. Some images common to all of humanity, along with their typical meanings are:

· THE PERSONA: A person’s “public mask.” The image of yourself you present to the public.

· THE SHADOW: The parts of a person they hide from the public, and even from themselves.

· THE ANIMUS: The male part of a person’s psyche (especially of a woman). Represented by men in one’s Dreams.

· The ANIMA: The female part of a person’s psyche (especially of a man). Represented by women in one’s Dreams.

· THE COUPLE: Represents wholeness and integration of the various parts of the self: anima and animus, inner and outer life, etc.

· THE HERO: Most People identify with the hero of stories, and so the hero represents the ego, which is the identification of the self.

· THE MAIDEN: Represents innocence, purity and beauty, but often an innocence accompanied by weakness that needs to be “rescued” by the hero, and so is more precisely naiveté.

· THE TRICKSTER: Sometimes represented as a clown or a magician, the trickster’s job is to hinder the mission of the hero.

· THE CHILD: The true, innocent self, filled with potential, but vulnerable.

· WISE OLD MAN: One’s inner guide based on the wisdom a person has accumulated over the years that often has to give guidance to the young inexperienced hero.

· THE FATHER: A guide, provider or authority figure.

· THE MOTHER: The part of a person that is nurturing, and promotes growth and fertility.

Beginning your understanding of dream Symbols with these archetypes can give you a quick start before you delve into the more challenging (but also exciting and rewarding) work of learning your personal symbology.

Beyond these personal images, common Dreams are also founded on emotions common to all of humanity:

· Fear
· The need to be understood
· The desire to be loved
· Lust and passion
· Thrill and adventure
· The pursuit of security
· A sense of belonging
· Personal journey of spiritual growth

Because humans have so many traits in common, many of our Dreams are similar. These common dream Symbols are the most easily understood as they have been analyzed and diagnosed by experts for years. Like archetypes, they are an excellent place to begin your journey in understanding the language of Dreams.

If you are mystified by a dream, begin with the two lists above and ask if your dream contained any of the characters from the first list, or feelings from the second list. If so, begin there, and often the meaning of other more personal Symbols will unfold their meaning as your mind begins to make associations.

Being Chased or Attacked

To dream that you engage in a fight, denotes that you will have unpleasant encounters with your business opponents, and law suits threaten you.

To see fighting, denotes that you are squandering your time and money. For women, this dream is a warning against slander and gossip.

For a young woman to see her lover fighting, is a sign of his unworthiness. To dream that you are defeated in a fight, signifies that you will lose your right to property.

To whip your assailant, denotes that you will, by courage and perseverance, win honor and wealth in spite of opposition.

To dream that you see two men fighting with pistols, denotes many worries and perplexities, while no real loss is involved in the dream, yet but small profit is predicted and some unpleasantness is denoted.

Wind

To dream of the wind blowing softly and sadly upon you, signifies that great fortune will come to you through bereavement.

If you hear the wind soughing, denotes that you will wander in estrangement from one whose life is empty without you.

To walk briskly against a brisk wind, foretells that you will courageously resist temptation and pursue fortune with a determination not easily put aside. For the wind to blow you along against your wishes, portends failure in business undertakings and disappointments in love. If the wind blows you in the direction you wish to go you will find unexpected and helpful allies, or that you have natural advantages over a rival or competitor.

Ladder

To dream of a ladder being raised for you to ascend to some height, your energetic and nervy qualifications will raise you into prominence in business affairs.

To ascend a ladder, means prosperity and unstinted happiness.

To fall from one, denotes despondency and unsuccessful transactions to the tradesman, and blasted crops to the farmer.

To see a broken ladder, betokens failure in every instance.

To descend a ladder, is disappointment in business, and unrequited desires.

To escape from captivity, or confinement, by means of a ladder, you will be successful, though many perilous paths may intervene.

To grow dizzy as you ascend a ladder, denotes that you will not wear new honors serenely. You are likely to become haughty and domineering in your newly acquired position.

House / Property Damage

To dream of visiting your old home, you will have good news to rejoice over.

To see your old home in a dilapidated state, warns you of the sickness or death of a relative. For a young woman this is a dream of sorrow. She will lose a dear friend.

3. Dreams have been here as long as mankind.
4. Everybody Dreams. EVERYBODY! Simply because you do not remember your dream does not mean that you did not dream.

5. Dreams are indispensable. A lack of dream activity can mean protein deficiency or a personality disorder.

7. Blind People do dream. Whether visual images will appear in their dream depends on whether they where blind at birth or became blind later in life. But vision is not the only sense that constitutes a dream. Sounds, tactility, and smell become hypersensitive for the blind and their Dreams are based on these senses.

11. Studies have shown that our brain waves are more active when we are Dreaming than when we are awake.

Dreams come from your subconscious mind as a means of processing and sorting information. But the truth is no one really knows what causes Dreams and why some folk seem to have vivid colorful Dreams and others have short uneventful ones.

Dreams mainly occur during Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep. REM occurs every one and a half hours during the sleep cycle. During REM the eyes move from side to side and the body is relaxed and almost incapable of movement.

Have you ever told People, “I never dream”? Well you’re wrong. The fact is everybody Dreams every night. You just may not be able to remember your Dreams.

Don’t worry too much if this is the case. Not remembering Dreams doesn’t mean you’re abnormal or unnatural in any way. While most People do remember their Dreams, the memory is fleeting and occurs mainly when the sleeper first awakens.

If you really want to be able to remember your Dreams, the best way is to ‘remind yourself’ before Falling asleep. This programs the subconscious mind - the source of your Dreams - to hold on to the memory.

This procedure will also work well for those who remember occasional Dreams or those who want to remember every dream they have.

Books on Dream Interpretation abound and many People believe that Dreams create a window into the subconscious mind where they can find answers to their most pressing problems and even see into the future.

This can be a dangerous practice. At best you can waste a lot of money buying books which lean towards the esoteric and lack knowledge in this area. Even sleep specialists know a large part of Interpreting Dreams is pure speculation.

At worst Dream Interpretation can be taken too seriously and People can depend too heavily on finding the (sometimes false) meaning of their Dreams. This can lead to depression and even paranoia. It’s best to treat Dream Interpretation as a bit of fun and realize that there may be many different ways to analyze Dreams and their meaning.

If you are having recurring Dreams or Nightmares, it’s best to contact a therapist experienced in this area. Don’t go down the mystical route of trying to analyze yourself by means of a book.

Nightmares can be caused by stress, so work on ways to relieve this and the Nightmares should ease or may even disappear by themselves.
